Daten:
Weight: 12.6kg
Wheel: 26"
Gear shift: Sturmey Archer, 2-speed, 2SC, Kick-shift
Frame: Birch- and bech veneer, layer pressed, glued
Steering tube: self-build
Ausfallenden: self-build, Material Alu 3D-print
steering tube support:self-build, Material Alu 3D-print
Test Nr1:
14km flat, Asphalt and gravel road, used to adjust the components.
Cruise Nr.2
42km Emmenmatt, Grosshöchstetten, Biglen, with a longer stem it fits my size better, climbs with the ‘small’ gear are almost only possible with momentum, so correspondingly strenuous ;-). Perfect for gravel roads.
Conclusion:
- rides comfortably, especially on dirt tracks, bumps are nicely absorbed without getting wobbly.
- Stability when pedalling is good, better than on my first wooden bike.
- Steering stability is a little unstable, here you notice that the ‘top tube’ is a little too weak.
- Something has to be tightened from time to time, but that's ok ;-)
- All in all, a successful project. The aim is to increase the range of my first wooden bike project tenfold, which means it should last ~1000km.
